Tropical Island

The goal of this project was to get familiar with creating a real-time environment in Unreal Engine with a focus on photorealism. Here I used free assets from Megascans, UE Marketplace and Sketchfab, as well as custom assets made in Blender. The environment is for most part procedural to speed up the set dressing process. I made a height based shader for the sand beaches and a custom ocean shader to get close to the look I was aiming for. I opted for fully dynamic lighting and planar reflection. I made a spherical matte painting for the background. All color grading and post processing done inside the engine.
